Frequently Asked Questions
Natural ways of shrinking uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts?
Today I was diagnosed with three uterine fibroids (3 cm each) and a small ovarian cyst. I don't want to get surgery as it could be dangerous for other organs. Are there any natural ways of shrinking them?
Fibroids are benign uterine growths. Many women have no symptoms while others experience bleeding, increased urination, bladder displacement, urine retention, constipation, infertility, miscarriage, pain during intercourse and anemia. Ovarian cysts are enlarged follicles that fail to rupture and release an egg. Women may experience general pain, disrupted periods, pain in the back and abdomen and painful intercourse. Both of these conditions are caused by imbalances in estrogen production. There are many natural treatments to deal with both of these conditions. Talk to your doctor about any natural supplements you are using.
Herbal Treatments for Fibroids
Herbal treatments that address bleeding often work quite quickly, but supplements that control hormone levels take about three months of use before bringing about noticeable results.
Black cohosh controls bleeding and relieves pain; take 500 milligrams daily. Cinnamon oil has a long history of use in traditional American medicine to control bleeding fibroids. Use 10-to-15 drops every 15 minutes until the bleeding stops. Dan shen, which should only be used under professional supervision, treats congealed blood, dark red clots during menstruation, and relieves pelvic congestion. Reishi tincture alleviates pelvic inflammation. Take one tablespoon in ¼ cup of water three times daily.
There are three traditional Chinese formulas that are commonly used to treat uterine fibroids. Take as directed on the product label.
Augmented Rambling powder lowers estrogen levels and is most useful for women who are also suffering from painful or difficult urination. Cinnamon Twig and Poria Pill lowers estrogen levels without interfering with the menstrual cycle or causing weight gain. Four Substance Decoction treats fibroids and is especially useful for women who eat a poor diet.
Herbal Treatments for Ovarian Cysts
Dioscorea tincture, also known as wild yam, alleviates cramping caused by ovarian cysts. Take as directed on the label. Dong quai relieves pain resulting from this condition. Take 1,000 milligrams daily during the two-week period after menstruation and then discontinue for two weeks.
There are several Chinese formulas used to treat ovarian cysts. Use as directed on the product label.
Dong Quai and Peony Powder reduces estrogen levels and the formation of inflammatory substances in the tissues that line the uterus. Two Cured Decoction reduces estrogen levels. Augmented Rambling Powder and Cinnamon Twig and Poria pill, which are listed above, can also be used for ovarian cysts
Estrogen is produced from body fat. Excess weight increases the amount of estrogen in the body, so make an effort to maintain a normal weight. Do your best to exercise regularly and reduce stress levels. Avoid the following herbs that stimulate estrogen production: Coleus, Cordyceps, fennel seed, licorice, and moutan.

Does anybody knows a natural cure for fibroids, only serious answers please?
I have fibroids and they are very big, my GYN doctors prescribed 6 months of Lupron they help a little bit but the fibroids are growing back, does any body know any natural cure for fibroids, I will appreciate it
There are a few things that you can try.
Vitex is one of the most widely known women's herbs.
researchers believe that vitex works by regulating the pituitary gland, the one that tells other glands how much of each hormone to make.
The hormone in question here is estrogen,on which vitex has a regulating effect.
Vitex needs to be taken for 6 months for it's full benefits to be felt.
An alternative practitioner typical dosage prescription would be any where from 2,000 to 5,000 milligrammes in capsules per day,or one to two dropperfuls of tincture 2 times per day.
Caution-to not take during pregnancy, and Vitex can also lesson the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
To help shrink fibroids, try taking the following supplements once daily for 3 to 4 months.
Vitamin C: 1,000 to 2,000 milligrams
Selenium: 400 micrograms and Zinc: 30 milligrams.
Uterine fibroid tea.
This tea combines hormone balancing herbs with those that ease cramps.
2 teaspoons vitex
1 teaspoon black cohosh root
half teaspoon dandelion root
half teaspoon prickly ash bark
quarter teaspoon cramp bark
quarter teaspoon cinnamon bark
4 cups of water.
Combine the herbs and water and bring to the boil.
lower heat and allow tea to simmer for a few minutes.
Remove from the heat and steep for 20 minutes.
Strain and drink at least 2 cups a day for 3 to 4 months.
When you have a bath, you can add several drops of rosemary, lavender,or juniper essential oils to stimulate pelvic circulation.
You could also try a castor oil pack
The skin absorbs warm castor oil's active constituents, lectins, which stimualate the immune response to help shrink fibroids.
Five drops of essential can also be added to a castor oil pack to encourage relaxation.
to make a pack, soak a clean cloth in castor oil, then place it on the abdomen or on any painful areas.
Cover the cloth with plastic wrap, then another clean cloth.
Then apply a heat sorce-A hot water bottle,a heating pad,a cloth bag of lentils, corn,or rice that has been microwaved for a few minutes.
Leave on for about an hour.
This herb is useful if your fibroids cause excessive bleeding during menstruation.
herbalists believe that it gradually improves the tone of the uterus.
A typical dosage would be 1 to 2 cup of tea 2 or 3 times a day.
(steep 1 teaspoon of dried leaves in a cup of hot water for 10 to 15 minutes).
Caution- If you are or think you might be pregnant, use only under the supervision of an experienced practioner.
Also in traditional chinese medicine,it is believed that taking milk thistle can also help.
I hope I was of some help and I hope that you are feeling alot better real soon.
Shrinking Fibroids Naturally??? Can it be done?
I was just diagnosed with having 3 fibroids. One of which is 6cm and is causing some pain on my right side. I have known about these fibroids, but have approached the "wait and see" attitude until now. Because of the pain, and heavy bleeding each month, I am faced with a decision to make in terms of getting them taken out. I have however decided AGAINST an hysterectomy. I know of too many side effects resulting in having one. Ablation is not a choice either, as my fibroid is too big. I don't want Lupron either. I am 47 years old, and Lupron is temporary. I won't make it too menopause with this approach. I am thinking about three options. Mynectomy, Embolization, and natural alternative methods. The later is much more appealing to me, as I live a holistic lifestyle, and I'm scared to death of surgery and meds. Has anyone had any success in shrinking fibroids naturally?? I would be very much interested in reading about your experience and how you achieved results if any. Chinese medicine? Herbs? Acupuncture? I'm all for it if it keeps me off the operating table. Thanks for the advice...
Hi! I might I have some useful info for you. You want to try and reduce the amount of estrogen in your system since that's what they need to grow. Here's a list of some things you could try:
Serrapeptase: This is an enzyme that eats cysts for food. I think it is amazing for inflammatory conditions and it should shrink your fibroids with continued use. Sold widely online and in health food stores.
Myomin: A blend of Chinese herbs was developed by an Oriental naturopath, Dr. Chi. The supplement limits estrogen production, acting sort of like an "aromatase inhibitor" similarly to stronger prescription drugs (Aromasin, Evista and Tamoxifen).
Sold online at www.energeticnutrition.com or www.chi-health.com.
This supplement will you reduce estrogen load and when fibroids don't get the estrogen they need, bloating might occur, especially right before your period and for a few days into your cycle. So it appears that your fibroid condition is worsening. Bloating should subside midway through your cycle. A colored discharge may also occur for a few months as the fibroids slowly dissolve and exit the body.
I3C or DIM: This supplement is extracted from broccoli, cauliflower and other cruciferous veggies. It helps reduce estrogen in the body so the same warnings exist for this supplement as for Myomin.
Evening Primrose Oil: It's extracted from the seeds of a wildflower and provides you with gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). This can help relieve painful menstrual cycles, endometriosis and fibroid tumors too!
Diet: No more fried food, dairy or meat because these may fuel the growth of fibroids. Eat more salads and fruits. Drink juices that are red and fresh, like pure pomegranate, grape or cranberry juice.
Medicine: Wean off your birth control or hormone replacement drugs (with your doctor's blessings) because these forms of estrogen fuel fibroid growth.
If you're interested in a natural progesterone, let me know. Hope this helps you! Sonja BalancedVictory@yahoogroups
How can I shrink Fibroids? Any good diet and Chinese Medicine?
The problem with fibroid tumors can simply be resolved by restoring proper progesterone levels, which restores normal growth and shedding of the endometrium.
Recommendations for healing fibroids by Dr. John Lee:
WHAT TO DO:
*Use natural progesterone cream.
*Eat a plant-based, fiber rich diet (at least 20-30g fiber per day)
*Take a liver-supporting and detoxifying herbal formula that includes the following herbs: Bupleurum, milk thistle (silybum marianum), barberry or goldenseal, burdock root, yellow dock, dandelion root.
*Take a uterus-healing herbal formula that includes some or all of the following herbs: myrrh, red raspberry, cayenne, Bupleurum, yarrow, vitex and lady's mantle (Alchemilla mollis)
*Use a castor oil pack 2-4 times a week (many books on herbal healing have instructions on how to make and use a castor oil pack.)
WHAT TO AVOID:
*Feed-lot meats (eat only range-fed, organic meats free of drugs and pestiside residue)
*Coffee (heavily sprayed with DDT)
hello every one , i need help with problems?
My name is anna , by bad luck I found I have Adenomyosis disease, so I need help to know , about it , any medication for it , it’s airborne etc etc etc . thanx
Adenomyosis isn't airborne.
Treatment options range from use of Natural Progesterone Cream, NSAIDs, hormonal suppression, anti inflammatory pain killers and IUD Coil for short term symptomatic relief (although IUD may cause further irritation of the uterus). Women with adenomyosis fail endometrial ablation because the ablation only affects the surface endometrial tissue, not the tissue that has grown into the muscle lining. This remaining tissue is still viable and will continue to cause pain.
Those that believe an excess of estrogen (Estrogen Dominance) is the cause of Adenomyosis, or that it aggravates the symptoms, recommend avoiding products with xenoestrogens and/or recommend taking Natural Progesterone Cream which may help balance the hormone levels.
Chinese herbal supplements DIM and Myomin are claimed to reduce excess estrogen, shrink fibroids and reduce significantly the adenomyosis symptoms. DIM is a blend of cruciferous vegetable extracts including broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and brussel sprouts. Research shows it helps metabolize unhealthy circulating estrogens (estrone, estradiol) into the good form (estriol).
Myomin is an all natural formula of Chinese herbs that has been shown to help metabolize unhealthy estrogens and promote proper hormonal balance. Studies show that it also inhibits aromatase, an enzyme that converts androgens (testosterone) into estrogen. In addition to that, it competes with estradiol at the estrogen receptors of target cells. This is why Myomin is so effective for estrogen-dominant conditions such as cysts and fibroids.
Hysterectomy should only be considered as a very last form of treatment option for this condition once full understanding of the long term effects have been read and understood.
